History of psychology

Psychology became a science in the late 1800s, and each generation since has argued about what the new science should study and how. The history of the field is a relay race of perspectives - structuralism, functionalism, psychoanalysis, Gestalt, behaviourism, humanism, and the cognitive revolution - each one still audible in psychology today.
