R-C low-pass and high-pass filters

One resistor and one capacitor are enough to pass low frequencies and block high ones, or the reverse. These simple filters clean up sensor signals, remove hum and set the bandwidth of countless circuits, and their behaviour follows from a single cutoff frequency.
