Parallel resonance

Put the inductor and capacitor side by side instead of in a row and resonance turns inside out: the impedance peaks instead of dipping, and a large current circulates inside the pair while the source supplies only a trickle. This tank circuit sits at the heart of oscillators and tuned amplifiers.
