Internal resistance and voltage regulation

Connect a heavy load to a real battery or supply and its terminal voltage sags. Modelling the source as an ideal voltage with a small resistance inside explains the sag, predicts it, and gives a single figure, voltage regulation, for how close a supply comes to ideal.
