Fourier series and nonsinusoidal circuits

Square waves, rectifier outputs and distorted mains currents are not sinusoids, yet every periodic waveform can be built from them. The Fourier series breaks such a waveform into a dc level and harmonics, so the ac methods of earlier sections handle it one frequency at a time.
