Precipitation and dissolution
Salts that are called insoluble still dissolve a little, and that little is governed by an equilibrium constant. The solubility product predicts how much of a salt dissolves, whether a precipitate will form when solutions are mixed, and how to keep an unwanted ion out of solution.
