Sensory, motor, coordination, and gait exams
The last sections of the neurological exam test the spinal cord, the spinal nerves and the cerebellum with simple tools: a cotton swab, a tuning fork, a reflex hammer and a walk across the room. Read together, the results can show the level of a spinal injury or separate a problem in the brain from one in a nerve.
