Respiratory organs and the lungs

Each breath travels through a branching set of tubes that clean, warm and moisten the air before it reaches hundreds of millions of tiny sacs where blood picks up oxygen. This topic follows that route from the nose to the alveoli and describes the lungs and the membranes that wrap them.
